As People Operations Manager at The Clean Slate Initiative (CSI), Makayla helps build equitable, people-focused HR practices that empower staff and strengthen organizational culture. She’s passionate about creating transparent processes, inclusive policies, and systems that reflect and celebrate the unique experiences of every team member.
Makayla brings a wealth of experience from the education and consulting sectors, where she led initiatives in recruiting, HR data analytics, and implementing people systems and tools, all while keeping equity and inclusion at the center of her work. Before joining CSI, Makayla supported mission-driven organizations in improving their people operations and talent strategies. Her work has consistently focused on ensuring access, belonging, and fairness in how organizations attract, develop, and support their teams.
Makayla holds a master’s degree in Human Resources Management, which deepened her commitment to building equitable and inclusive workplaces where people can grow and thrive. She believes deeply in the power of second chances and is proud to contribute to CSI’s mission of expanding opportunity and removing barriers for people.
