New York Passes Automatic Criminal Record Expungement "Clean Slate" Law

Connecticut’s Clean Slate law has automatically erased thousands of eligible criminal records — but many people still don’t know they’ve benefited because the state doesn’t notify individuals when their records are cleared.

Governor J.B. Pritzker today signed the Illinois Clean Slate Act (HB 1836), making Illinois the 13th state to adopt automated record sealing. CSI's Sheena Meade, CEO, issued a statement in response.
